British Police: Five 'Fairford' Detainees Are British, Suspected of Planning Terrorist Act

British counter-terrorism police announced on Monday that the five men arrested in connection with a suspected terrorist plot near RAF Fairford, a base used by U.S. forces, are all British nationals aged between 23 and 25.

Police stated that the detainees, comprising one 25-year-old, three 24-year-olds, and one 23-year-old, all reside in London and remain in custody on suspicion of offenses including preparing for acts of terrorism under British counter-terrorism laws.

The five men were arrested on Sunday after police received reports of three suspicious vehicles heading toward RAF Fairford, before counter-terrorism officers took over the investigation.

Earlier today, the United States urged its citizens in the United Kingdom to exercise heightened caution following the security incident near the U.S. military air base.

The U.S. Embassy in the UK advised American citizens to prioritize their personal safety, warning that events, organizations, and facilities linked to the United States could be at risk, and recommended they monitor local media for updates.
