First Deputy Prime Minister Expresses Concern for Injured Victims of Dog Attack

- A Ministry of Agriculture employee was injured while performing his duties at the agency’s headquarters, and a Kuwaiti citizen was injured upon entering her home.

- Interior Ministry: A case of “negligence in guarding an animal and causing injury by mistake” has been registered, and legal procedures are underway.

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, expressed his concern today, Saturday, regarding the health condition of two individuals who were attacked by dogs.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef visited an employee of the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources at Al-Farwaniya Hospital, following an attack by several stray dogs while he was carrying out his duties at the authority’s headquarters, which resulted in various injuries.

He checked on his health status and listened to a briefing on the developments in his medical condition, wishing him a speedy recovery and full health and wellness.

He also expressed concern over the health of a Kuwaiti citizen who was attacked by a dog while entering her residence, resulting in various injuries. She was transported to Al-Amiri Hospital to receive treatment.

The Ministry added that the relevant security authorities immediately responded to the scene, where it was determined that the dog was owned by an individual. A case of “negligence in guarding an animal and causing injury by mistake” was registered, and necessary legal measures are being taken.

The Interior Ministry called on everyone to exercise caution and vigilance, and to contact the emergency number (112) to report any situations posing a risk to public safety or gatherings of stray dogs, providing precise location details, to enable the relevant authorities to take appropriate measures that contribute to protecting lives and enhancing public safety.
