Shahid Park to open its third phase to the public on October 1

Shahid Park is preparing to open its third phase to the public with a celebratory carnival that embodies the values of peace, harmony, and hope. Scheduled for October 1, the park’s grounds will transform over the course of the festivities into a vibrant space celebrating the future through a comprehensive aesthetic visual experience.
Anwar Al-Itami, head of the oversight, management, and follow-up committee for the park’s third phase, representing the Amir’s Diwan, stated in a press conference held on Saturday in the Round Hall of the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center that Shahid Park is a national project representing a qualitative addition to Kuwait’s cultural and entertainment landscape. She noted that it reflects the state’s commitment to providing integrated destinations that serve the community and meet its aspirations.
Al-Itami explained that the third phase completes the achievements of the first and second phases, offering a renewed vision and high-quality components that blend culture, art, entertainment, and sports within a modern, sustainable environment. This enhances the park’s status as one of Kuwait’s premier destinations and provides a comprehensive experience for all family members.
She added that coinciding with the opening, a celebratory carnival will be held on October 1 and 2, featuring a range of events and activities designed to be a distinctive occasion for the public. The carnival aims to celebrate this national achievement and provide everyone with the opportunity to explore the new facilities and experiences included in the third phase.
Al-Itami extended her sincere thanks and appreciation to Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Governor of the Capital Governorate, for his support of this occasion. She also thanked Kuwait Finance House, Al-Shaheen Group, Ooredoo Telecommunications, and Best Al-Yousfi for their sponsorship and support of the opening and accompanying carnival, which exemplifies the importance of effective partnerships between state institutions and the private sector in supporting national projects and initiatives.
She said, “We look forward to the third phase of Shahid Park serving as an extension of the successes achieved in previous phases and a new launchpad for further events and activities, meeting the community’s aspirations and reinforcing Kuwait’s presence as an attractive destination for culture and entertainment.”
For his part, Vice Chairman of the Committee, Khalid Al-Filkaawi, praised in a similar statement the efforts of the sponsors, supporters, and all those who contributed to the success of this occasion. He noted that these sponsorships reflect a distinguished model of partnership and cooperation, underscoring the private sector institutions’ commitment to fulfilling their societal role and contributing to the support of national, cultural, and entertainment projects and events in Kuwait.
Al-Filkaawi said, “We highly value this partnership and look forward to its continuation and development in the future, contributing to the delivery of distinctive events and initiatives that serve the community and enrich Kuwait’s cultural and entertainment landscape.”
In turn, Abdullah Al-Ruwaih, representative of Kuwait Finance House and Head of Public Relations and Media for the Group, affirmed the bank’s commitment to building and strengthening this type of strategic partnership with key entities in the country, including Shahid Park in its third phase.
Al-Rouaih added: “We are pleased to support this distinguished project, which represents an extension of Kuwait’s role in supporting purposeful national and community initiatives. This stems from our belief in the importance of corporate social responsibility and the leadership role that Kuwait Finance House plays in this field.”
He noted that Kuwait Finance House “fully believes that these projects are among the most important national initiatives that will, God willing, have a positive impact on society. The partnership with Al-Shaheed Park also underscores Kuwait Finance House’s commitment to fulfilling its role and providing the necessary support for projects that open new tourism and entertainment prospects, and strengthen strategic partnerships that contribute to achieving development goals in line with Kuwait Vision 2035.”
He explained that Kuwait Finance House has a rich track record of supporting this type of initiative, particularly national and community-based ones. He expressed pride in this partnership and looked forward to continuing support for such projects that stimulate economic and tourism activity and foster growth, thereby contributing to sustainable development in the State of Kuwait. He extended his sincere thanks to all those involved in and working on the project.
For his part, Hamoud Al-Shaie, representing the Al-Shaie Group, stated in his address: “From the outset, we have believed that our role extends beyond the commercial sphere to include positive and sustainable contributions to the communities in which we live and work.” He considered Al-Shaheed Park to embody this approach, describing it as a distinctive destination in the heart of Kuwait City that combines green spaces, culture, and entertainment, providing individuals and families with a place to meet and spend time together, becoming part of their daily lives.
Al-Shaie said that “our support for this phase reflects our steadfast commitment to our homeland, Kuwait, and our belief in the importance of synergy among various entities and the positive impact such synergy can achieve in serving society and enhancing quality of life.”

For her part, Nadira Al-Ahmad, a member of the Supervisory Committee, outlined in her address the key features of the carnival, explaining that it aims to revitalize and introduce the park’s diverse and unique facilities through a comprehensive program spanning two days that integrates culture, arts, entertainment, and sports.
Al-Ahmad highlighted the carnival’s main features, including light shows that adorn and animate the dome of Al-Sour Theater; entertainment shows for children and families that enliven the outdoor stages and various open spaces; traditional Kuwaiti performances reflecting the national heritage and cultural identity of Kuwait; celebratory parades that traverse different parts of the park, creating a distinctive festive atmosphere; and artistic works, creative installations, and light shows that enhance the visitor experience and enrich the carnival ambiance.
She also pointed to dynamic and sporting activities featuring local athletes in the parkour and skateboarding areas, adding a vibrant character to the experience, as well as diverse activities distributed across all park facilities, presented by sponsors and partners with the aim of delighting visitors of all ages.
She noted that visitors can learn about all events and their locations through the carnival schedule and an interactive map that indicates the locations of various activities and shows within the park.
