Chiefs of Staff of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey Affirm Their Resolve to Immediately Begin Implementing the Commitments of the "Mecca Agreement"

They affirmed their commitment to collective defense of the Kingdom’s security, enhancing military and intelligence coordination, and integrating capabilities.

A meeting was held in Riyadh today between the Chief of the Defense Forces and the Chiefs of the General Staffs of the parties to the Mecca Agreement on Collective Defense, with the participation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Republic of Turkey.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense stated in a statement that the Chiefs of the General Staffs reviewed the security situation and the threats facing the Kingdom, and expressed their strong condemnation of the attacks targeting the holy city of Mecca and Saudi Arabia’s civilian and economic infrastructure.

The participants praised the vigilance and professionalism of the Saudi Armed Forces in ensuring the safety of citizens and residents and the security of the Kingdom.

They discussed ways to enhance cooperation among the armed forces of the three countries, and to develop intelligence cooperation, military coordination, and capability integration, contributing to strengthening deterrence and collective defense.

They also commended the solid relationships and mutual trust binding the peoples and armed forces of the three countries, affirming that their meeting in Riyadh reflects the strength of the defense partnership and their shared determination to immediately begin translating the commitments outlined in the Mecca Agreement on Collective Defense into effective military cooperation.

The participants reaffirmed their commitment to collective defense and the determination of the three countries to defend the security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
