Food Authority: Over 150 kilograms of food products destroyed in Al-Ahmadi and Al-Mubarakeeya

- Health, licensing violations and the circulation of adulterated food detected during inspections of 26 establishments

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN), in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, conducted two inspection campaigns targeting food establishments in the Al Ahmadi and Mubarak Al-Kabir governorates. The operations resulted in the destruction of more than 150 kilograms of various food items and the taking of necessary measures against violators.

In a press statement issued on Friday, the Authority stated that the Al Ahmadi Governorate Inspection Department carried out an inspection campaign in coordination with the Ministry of Interior. The campaign identified several violations, including operating a food establishment without a license, circulating adulterated food, failure to meet technical and health requirements, and non-compliance with personal and general hygiene standards.

The Authority noted that the campaign led to the destruction of 150 kilograms of assorted food products.

It added that the Mubarak Al-Kabir Governorate Inspection Department also conducted a joint supervisory campaign in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior. This operation involved inspecting 26 food establishments and resulted in the issuance of eight violation reports covering breaches of health, hygiene, licensing, and health certificate requirements. Additionally, 2,457 kilograms of food unfit for human consumption were seized and destroyed.

The Authority affirmed its continued supervisory efforts to protect consumer health and ensure food safety, safeguarding the well-being of citizens and residents.
