Najaf International Airport officially announces the suspension of all flights to and from Iran

The management of Najaf International Airport in Iraq announced on Friday the suspension of all flights arriving from and departing to Iranian airports. Citing the Iraqi News Agency, the airport administration stated that the decision was based on official directives issued by the competent authorities, noting that flights have been suspended since 2:00 a.m. local time today (11:00 p.m. GMT yesterday) until further notice.

The administration added that it had instructed airlines and relevant operational entities to refrain from taking any operational actions concerning the flights covered by the directive during the suspension period.

The airport’s flight schedule, released late yesterday, showed no flights to or from Iran, listing only four flights to the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Lebanon, and Qatar.
