Prince's Representative Discusses Bilateral Relations and Key Developments with Irish Prime Minister
His Highness the Crown Prince reviews partnership, training programs, and efforts to enhance international security and stability with the NATO Secretary General
Representing His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad, His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid, received today, in two separate meetings at the headquarters of the State of Kuwait’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The meetings took place on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During his meeting with Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin and his accompanying delegation, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between Kuwait and Ireland and ways to develop them in a manner that serves the interests of both countries and their peoples. They also discussed key developments on the regional and international scenes.

Attending the meeting were Sheikh Dr. Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad, Director General of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority; Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi; Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the United States of America; Ambassador Tariq Al-Bunai, Permanent Representative of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations; and Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Dai, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince.
In another meeting, His Highness the Crown Prince received NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and his accompanying delegation. They reviewed the frameworks of partnership and cooperation between Kuwait and the Alliance under the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative, and followed up on training and technical cooperation programs through NATO’s Regional Center in Kuwait.
The meeting also addressed regional and international issues of mutual interest, as well as efforts aimed at enhancing international security and stability.
