Kuwait: Committed to supporting and strengthening solidarity among Islamic countries

Kuwait participated in a number of events and meetings on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, which addressed enhancing solidarity among Islamic countries and developing Gulf-European partnerships in the security and economic fields.
Ambassador Hamad Al-Mari, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Affairs, affirmed on Thursday Kuwait’s commitment to supporting and strengthening solidarity among Islamic countries within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
This was stated in a statement given by Ambassador Al-Mari to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following his participation in the OIC’s ministerial coordination meeting.

During the meeting, Al-Mari expressed Kuwait’s condemnation of the attacks on GCC member states and several Arab countries, reiterating Kuwait’s denunciation of the attacks launched by the Houthi militia on the territory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, whose impact extended to the Holy City of Makkah.
He affirmed Kuwait’s standing alongside the Kingdom, emphasizing that Saudi Arabia’s security is an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the GCC states.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation and consultation among Islamic countries, as well as exchanging views on regional and international situations and issues.
In a related context, Kuwait, represented by Ambassador Sadiq Ma’arifi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Organizations Affairs, participated in a discussion session on strengthening Gulf-European partnerships for regional security and prosperity.
The session was organized by the Atlantic Council’s Europe and Gulf Forum, in cooperation with Antenna Group, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The session addressed ways to enhance cooperation between GCC countries and European nations in strategic and economic fields, in light of current regional developments and their implications for security, stability, and the economy in both the Gulf and European regions.
It also focused on the importance of developing joint initiatives and strengthening long-term partnerships between the Gulf and European sides in the fields of economy, energy, infrastructure, and security, thereby supporting shared interests and contributing to enhancing regional security and prosperity.
