“Interior Ministry”: The seizure was part of the ongoing investigation into the manufacturing of “Shabu” in Jakhour, Kabd area

- The suspect admitted to carrying out more than 24 smuggling operations over two years, including shipments to Saudi Arabia

Under the direct supervision of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control succeeded in arresting a member of a network involved in the smuggling, manufacturing, and trafficking of narcotics, and thwarting the smuggling of approximately 47 kilograms of “Shabu” and 45 liters of raw Shabu liquid used in the production of psychoactive substances, through the Abdali border crossing.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that the seizure was part of the investigation into the suspect, who had previously been arrested at his home in the Saad Al-Abdullah area, after it was established that he was manufacturing “Shabu” in Jakhour, Kabd area, and trafficking in narcotics.

The ministry clarified that the seizure followed extensive search and investigative efforts, including the setup of a tight ambush, in coordination with the General Directorate of Customs, as the suspect arrived from the Republic of Iraq via the Abdali border crossing. Approximately 47 kilograms of “Shabu” and 45 liters of raw Shabu liquid were found hidden in a concealed manner within the chassis of his vehicle.

Investigations revealed that the suspect traveled by land to the Al-Muhammerah region in Iran to meet a drug dealer, who was responsible for hiding the shipments inside the vehicle. The suspect then returned with the vehicles through the Republic of Iraq to Kuwait, handing them over to the previously arrested suspect for unloading at one of the warehouses in Jakhour, where the “Shabu” was manufactured and distributed through trafficking networks.

The suspect admitted to carrying out more than 24 smuggling operations over two years, which included introducing shipments into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In these operations, individuals affiliated with the other suspect would receive the vehicles, unload the cargo, and return them to him for his return to Kuwait.

The General Directorate of Narcotics Control affirmed its continued tracking of the remaining members of the network and its extensions, and taking necessary legal action against those involved, while dismantling their sources of activity, in order to protect societal security and the safety of its members.
