T4 Airport Customs Thwarts Smuggling of 1,996 Ritalin Pills

Customs inspectors at Terminal T4 of Kuwait International Airport thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1,996 tablets of the drug "Rayol," which is listed in the schedule of psychotropic substances due to its active ingredient, Tapentadol. The drugs were in the possession of a traveler arriving from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

In a statement, Customs said the seizure was made possible by the vigilance of its inspectors and the precision of its inspection procedures, as the tablets were found on the traveler.

It added that a seizure report was immediately prepared, the required customs and legal procedures were carried out, and the suspect and the seized items were referred to the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics and Alcohol.

The General Directorate of Customs affirmed its continued efforts to tighten control over all entry points and firmly counter attempts to smuggle narcotics and psychotropic substances into the country.
