On Thursday, Saudi Civil Defense issued an early warning in the city of Mecca and the governorates of Jeddah, Taif, Yanbu, and the Tabuk region, urging people to follow safety guidelines and official instructions.
In a statement, Civil Defense called for maintaining calm and immediately moving to the nearest safe location inside a building or an interior room away from windows, and remaining there until the threat has passed. It advised against leaving homes or buildings, avoiding open areas and glass, and refraining from standing on balconies or rooftops.
