The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the State of Kuwait celebrated the Kingdom’s 96th National Day in a national atmosphere that reflected the depth of the fraternal and deeply rooted historical ties binding the two brotherly countries. The event was attended by His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah, Prime Minister, along with several ministers and senior officials, as well as a large gathering of ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the country.
The celebration featured broad participation, reflecting the high standing enjoyed by the Kingdom and the distinguished ties linking it with the State of Kuwait, which are founded on brotherhood, shared destiny, and close cooperation across various fields. Attendees praised the Kingdom’s continuous developmental and civilizational achievements, as well as its pivotal role at both the regional and international levels.
Prince Sultan bin Saad, the Envoy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the State of Kuwait, affirmed that Saudi-Kuwaiti relations are characterized by steadfast brotherhood, sincere affection, and a shared history. He noted that the bond between the two countries transcends geographical boundaries, resting on the ties of blood and shared destiny between the two royal families and their peoples.
In his address during the ceremony, Prince Saad stated that this occasion recalls the legacy of generosity initiated by the Founder of the Kingdom, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, may God have mercy on him.
He referred to an image he displayed during his speech showing the Founder during his stay in the State of Kuwait, stating that it encapsulates what words may fail to describe regarding the uniqueness of the relationship between the two brotherly countries and their mutual stances over the years. He urged the audience to reflect on it as “a story of brotherhood, a national memory, and a message of love condensed into a single moment.”
Partnership and Friendship
For his part, Stephen Butler, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the U.S. Embassy in the State of Kuwait, congratulated the Kingdom on its National Day, expressing his pleasure at participating in the celebration.
Butler told journalists: “Congratulations to our Saudi friends,” emphasizing that the partnership and friendship between the United States and the Kingdom are deep, spanning generations, and that the bilateral relationship remains of great importance to this day.
A Vital Role
In turn, Qadri Rashid, the British Ambassador to Kuwait, congratulated the Saudi Ambassador and all Saudi friends and colleagues on the National Day, affirming that it is an occasion worthy of celebration. Rashid stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plays a vital role in its relations with the United Kingdom and Kuwait, as well as in the region at large.
A Friend to France
Olivier Goffin, the French Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on its National Day, affirming that it is a close partner and friend of France.
Speaking during the celebration, Goffin noted that Franco-Saudi relations are close, encompassing cultural, economic, and military domains. He referred to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s recent visit to Paris and his meetings with the French President.
Distinguished Relations
For his part, Rami Tahboub, the Palestinian State Ambassador to Kuwait, extended congratulations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on its National Day. He conveyed his best wishes to His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to Prince Sultan bin Saad, the Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait, and to the Saudi people, wishing the Kingdom continued progress, prosperity, and leadership in the Arab and Islamic worlds.
Tahboub expressed his pride in the distinguished relations between Palestine and the Kingdom, praising its role in supporting the Palestinian cause and mobilizing support for the Palestinian people.
In turn, Vladimir Giltov, the Russian Ambassador to Kuwait, expressed his pleasure at participating in the Saudi Embassy’s celebration, commending the large turnout for the occasion. Giltov stated that Russia values the close ties linking it with the Kingdom, highlighting the role of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in strengthening these relations. He added that he maintains a good relationship with the Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait and looks forward to continuing cooperation with his Saudi friends, particularly in Kuwait.
Distinguished Cooperation
From his side, Yang Xin, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Kuwait, congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, affirming the solidity of bilateral relations between China and the Kingdom.
Yang stated that the two countries enjoy distinguished cooperation at both the bilateral and multilateral levels, expressing his wishes for a more prosperous future for the Kingdom, its government, and its people.
In turn, Dr. Zafar Iqbal, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Kuwait, congratulated the Kingdom on its National Day, extending his best wishes to His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to the Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait, and to the Saudi people. Iqbal affirmed the depth of the relations binding Pakistan and the Kingdom, stating that Pakistanis share in the joy of this occasion with their Saudi brothers and consider it a cherished event.

Prince Sultan bin Saad, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, responded to a question regarding the Embassy’s celebration of the 96th Saudi National Day and the attendance of His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah, Prime Minister, by stating: “There is no doubt that it is a great day and a grand celebration for us as Saudis. We must certainly recall, in this large gathering and on this occasion, the Founder, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, who established this majestic entity, which is considered the fundamental and pivotal cornerstone in the region.”
He clarified that “King Abdulaziz had a far-sighted vision. He began by establishing this entity, and his righteous sons followed in his footsteps, until we reached the era of our master, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and our master, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.”
He added: “Kuwait holds a special place in our hearts, especially when we recall—and we always do—that the launch of the founding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia originated from Kuwait. Therefore, celebrating in Kuwait, with Kuwait, and from Kuwait carries an additional distinct significance.”
He continued: “A thousand congratulations to the Saudi people, and likewise to the Kuwaiti people. Their joy is our joy, and our joy is theirs. In our celebration in Kuwait, we felt from them even more enthusiasm than in our celebrations within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is not surprising given the nature of the Kuwaiti people and their leadership; since time immemorial, they have maintained this spirit.”
In response to a question about the Kingdom’s role in the region and the importance of Kuwait’s participation in the Investment Forum and the Gulf-European Summit, he said: “I believe the Kingdom’s role is well known to the world. Today, the Kingdom plays a significant role on the international stage and is a member of the G20, comprising the world’s largest economies.”
He clarified that "Kuwait’s participation is substantial. Kuwait holds great importance due to its political and economic weight and its long-standing experience. Consequently, it carries significant influence, and its voice is heard and sincere in what it says. It also holds considerable weight on both the international and regional levels."
In response to a question about Vision 2030, he stated: "We are now moving beyond 2030 toward Vision 2040. The Kingdom is advancing, and its primary goal and fundamental pillar is the Saudi citizen."
Regarding the level of coordination among Gulf states and the unity of their front, he affirmed that "the Kingdom has always supported unity of the front, whether at the regional or international level, and consistently seeks coordination with brothers and friends everywhere for the benefit of all."
