Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohammed Al-Osaimi held talks with Dr. Khalid Khalifa, advisor to the High Commissioner and representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and his accompanying delegation, on ways to enhance cooperation in humanitarian and community-related aspects.
The Ministry stated in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday that the meeting discussed areas of cooperation and coordination in fields of mutual interest, and reviewed the Ministry of Islamic Affairs’ role in reinforcing values of solidarity, compassion, and coexistence.
It added that the meeting addressed support for awareness and humanitarian initiatives, exchange of expertise, and development of cooperation areas to contribute to supporting humanitarian efforts and strengthening social responsibility.
