Civil Aviation denies starting transit flights at Kuwait Airport in October

Al-Rajhi: The circulating announcement is incorrect, and we have not notified any airlines of a decision in this regard

Abdullah Al-Rajhi, the official spokesperson for the General Authority of Civil Aviation, denied on Tuesday reports circulating about an announcement by one of the airlines operating at Kuwait International Airport stating that it would begin operating transit flights starting from October 1.

Al-Rajhi confirmed in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the information contained in the announcement is incorrect, and that airlines operating at Kuwait International Airport have not been notified or informed of the commencement of transit flight operations from the mentioned date.

He urged all airlines operating at Kuwait International Airport to exercise accuracy and verify the authenticity of information and regulatory decisions before issuing or publishing any announcements related to operations or aviation services, and to consult the relevant authorities within the Authority before announcing any operational procedures or arrangements.

He added that the Authority condemns the issuance of such inaccurate announcements, given the potential disruption they may cause to passengers and the confusion they may create among the public, and affirmed that necessary measures will be taken and the concerned airline will be held accountable in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.

He emphasized the Civil Aviation Authority’s commitment to providing passengers and the air transport sector with official, approved information, noting that any updates or decisions regarding the operation of transit flights will be officially announced through the Authority’s approved channels.
