Under the supervision of the Minister of Interior, suspect arrested for manufacturing shabu in a shed in Kabd and hiding drug proceeds underground

The General Directorate for Combating Narcotics successfully apprehended a suspect involved in manufacturing shabu (methamphetamine), distributing, and trafficking in narcotics. The suspect was exploiting a warehouse in the Kabd area to carry out his criminal activities, under the presence and supervision of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that the apprehension followed investigative procedures and surveillance of the suspect’s movements. A carefully planned ambush resulted in his arrest at his residence in the Saad Al-Abdullah area, where 2 kilograms of shabu were found, along with raw materials used in the production of psychotropic substances.

The ministry added that cash was also discovered, which the suspect had concealed in a tightly sealed underground pit. It noted that, upon confrontation, the suspect admitted to manufacturing shabu in a warehouse in the Kabd area and that the seized funds were proceeds from his narcotics trafficking.

The ministry clarified that the suspect’s Kuwaiti nationality had previously been revoked due to confirmed dual nationality and his possession of another citizenship. It pointed out that the necessary legal measures have been taken regarding the suspect and the seized items, and that procedures are being completed to confiscate the warehouse used for manufacturing narcotics.

The Minister of Interior affirmed that the ministry is resolutely committed to combating the scourge of drugs and cutting off its sources, and will show no leniency in enforcing the law against anyone who dares to threaten the security of the country or endanger its citizens.
