T5 Airport Customs Thwarts Smuggling of Marijuana, Shabu, and 6,211 Ecstasy Pills

Kuwait Airport Customs inspectors at Terminal T5 thwarted an attempt to smuggle various quantities of narcotics and psychotropic substances in the possession of an individual arriving from Bangladesh. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Saleh Mohammed Al-Omair, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs for Border, Investigation, and Customs Intelligence Affairs.

In a statement, the General Department of Customs said that a thorough inspection resulted in the seizure of three bags containing marijuana with a total weight of 4.750 kilograms, six bags of the narcotic substance "Shabu" weighing 319.3 grams, and 31 bags containing 6,211 ecstasy pills, which are classified as psychotropic substances.

The department added that the seizure report is being prepared and the required customs and legal procedures are being completed, in preparation for referring the suspect and the seized items to the General Department for Combating Narcotics and Alcohol.

The General Department of Customs affirmed the continued efforts of its inspectors to tighten control over all customs borders and to firmly combat attempts to smuggle narcotics and psychotropic substances, in order to protect the security of society and the well-being of its citizens.
