Court of Cassation upholds acquittal of Aisha Al-Rashid in Iran insult case

The Court of Cassation upheld the acquittal of media personality Aisha Al-Rashid in the case filed by the Iranian Embassy, stemming from remarks made in one of the episodes of her program on YouTube regarding what she described as “Iranian sleeper cells” and “Hezbollah” in Kuwait.

The case had been initiated on charges of insulting the Islamic Republic of Iran, following the episode’s discussion of Iranian activities in the region, Iran-linked cells, and the role of “Hezbollah” in Kuwait.

With the Court of Cassation’s endorsement of the acquittal, the ruling has become final, thereby bringing the case against Al-Rashid to a close.
