Foreign Minister attends Gulf coordination meeting and ministerial working dinner on the Middle East in New York

- Discussing the enhancement of Gulf coordination and support for diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and restore peace in the region

Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jeraf Al-Jaber participated on Sunday in the coordination meeting of the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, held on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement that the meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination among GCC member states, as well as preparations for meetings to be held with several countries and regional and international blocs on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly sessions.

Sheikh Jeraf Al-Jaber also participated on Sunday evening in the 21st Ministerial Working Dinner on the Middle East, hosted jointly by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani; Prince Zeid bin Raad Al Hussein, President of the International Peace Institute; and Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission. The event was held at the International Peace Institute headquarters on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the General Assembly.

During the working dinner, participants discussed the overall issues and challenges facing the Middle East region, exchanged views on regional developments and related international moves, and explored ways to support diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions, enhancing security and stability, and achieving peace in the region.
