GCC Secretary-General: Dialogue and diplomacy are the best path to sustainable solutions and consolidating peace

The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), Jasem Al-Budaiwi, met on Sunday with the President of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Khalil Al-Rahman, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation in service of the interests of both sides, supporting security and stability.

The GCC Secretariat-General stated in a statement that the meeting took place on the sidelines of the current session of the UN General Assembly, held at the UN headquarters.

During the meeting, Al-Budaiwi outlined the positions of the GCC member states on a number of regional and international issues, reaffirming their support for all diplomatic efforts and initiatives aimed at addressing and resolving issues and crises through peaceful means.

He expressed the GCC states’ firm belief that dialogue and diplomacy represent the best path toward achieving sustainable solutions, contributing to consolidating the foundations of peace at both the regional and international levels.
