Syrian Embassy: 1,277 women who had their Kuwaiti citizenship revoked have applied to regularize their status

The Chargé d’Affaires at the Syrian Embassy, Taim Al-Madani, announced that the embassy has received, to date, 1,277 applications from women whose Kuwaiti nationality was revoked and who have applied to regularize their status regarding Syrian nationality. He added, in a statement to "Al-Siyasa" yesterday, that the embassy is working to complete the required documents, refer the files to the competent authorities in Syria, and follow up on them, confirming that 1,270 transactions have been completed so far, while the remaining applications are still under review.

Al-Madani continued: The number of consular transactions completed by the embassy since last January until today (yesterday) reached 46,852, covering various consular services provided to members of the Syrian community in the State of Kuwait.

He affirmed that the embassy provides various consular services, adding that the embassy has worked to organize appointments and roles, simplify the submission procedures for transactions, and clarify the required documents in advance, while giving priority to humanitarian and urgent cases. This contributes to accelerating the completion of transactions and reducing the number of times citizens need to visit the embassy. He also noted that the backlog of transactions has been largely addressed, the flow of visitors has been organized, and waiting periods have been reduced, while pointing out that some transactions are subject to approvals and procedures by the competent authorities in Syria.

He said: There is good cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the competent Kuwaiti authorities, which has contributed to resolving many issues and transactions related to Syrian citizens in the State of Kuwait. He pointed out that the embassy adheres to the fees and instructions approved by the competent Syrian authorities, and any amendments to them or to the required documents are announced through the embassy’s official channels.

Message to members of the community

The Chargé d’Affaires at the Syrian Embassy, Taim Al-Madani, affirmed in a message to members of the community that the embassy is keen to provide the best possible service and facilitate their transactions within the framework of applicable laws and regulations. He called on them to follow official announcements and ensure that all required documents are completed before visiting the embassy.

He urged members of the community to strictly adhere to the instructions issued by the competent Kuwaiti authorities regarding residence in Kuwait and to respect all applicable laws and regulations, in order to facilitate their residence in their second home, the sisterly State of Kuwait.
