Foreign Minister discusses Kuwaiti missing persons and property recovery in New York

- Discussed enhancing cooperation with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jeraih Al-Jaber met on Sunday with Maria Yamasita, the Senior Representative of the UN Secretary-General for the Implementation of Security Council Resolution 2792 (2025), and Volker Türk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York. The meetings took place on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly.

According to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as reported by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Sheikh Jeraih Al-Jaber’s meeting with Yamasita focused on efforts to achieve tangible progress in the search for missing Kuwaitis and third-country nationals, determining their fate, and the recovery of Kuwaiti property, including the National Archives.
