Cuba plunged into darkness after a total collapse of the power grid

The Cuban Ministry of Energy announced on Friday that the national power grid had completely collapsed, causing island-wide blackouts across the country, which has a population of approximately nine million, according to Reuters.

In a post on social media platforms, the ministry stated that the national grid had suffered a total collapse, without immediately specifying the cause of the outage or the expected duration for restoring electricity.
