T4 Airport Customs Thwarts Smuggling of Hashish, Cocaine, and 4,144 Lyrica Capsules

Kuwait Airport T4 customs inspectors thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics and psychotropic pills, as part of the ongoing efforts by the General Customs Administration to combat attempts to smuggle prohibited substances into the country.

In a statement, Customs explained that the seizure occurred during the inspection of a traveler’s luggage arriving from Beirut. The traveler was found in possession of seven pieces of hashish weighing a total of 530 grams, along with a bag containing cocaine pieces weighing 1.15 grams.

It was added that the inspection also resulted in the seizure of 74 boxes of the drug “Lyrica,” which is listed among the schedules of psychotropic substances, containing a total of 4,144 capsules.

The statement noted that the seizure report is being finalized and the required legal procedures are being carried out, in preparation for referring the suspect and the seized items to the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics.

The General Customs Administration affirmed that its inspectors continue to perform their duties with vigilance and professionalism, firmly confronting anyone who attempts to smuggle prohibited substances into the country, in order to safeguard the security and well-being of society.
