Public Works opens applications for 129 vacant supervisory positions

From Sunday, the 20th of the current month, until October 3, 2024

The Ministry of Public Works has opened applications for its employees to fill 129 vacant supervisory positions at the levels of Department Director and Section Head across various sectors of the Ministry, starting from next Sunday until October 3.

The Ministry has restricted applications to employees who meet the conditions stipulated in Civil Service Council Decision No. 25 of 2006 regarding the conditions for filling supervisory positions, and its amendments. These conditions include, among others, that the applicant holds a specialized university degree and has at least 10 years of actual experience for the position of Department Director, or 6 years for the position of Section Head, in the relevant field of work.

According to the conditions, an additional four years of actual experience are added to the required practical experience for holders of a specialized diploma or its equivalent, or for those who have completed training courses of at least two years’ duration after completing secondary education.

The Ministry also required that the applicant’s last two performance evaluations be rated “Excellent,” and that the applicant has completed two full calendar years of service in the Ministry prior to being assigned to the supervisory position, while adhering to the principle of career progression stipulated in Civil Service Council Decision No. 30 of 2015.

Employees working in government entities that are being merged or abolished are exempt from the career progression requirement, in accordance with the Civil Service Council decision adopted at its 10th meeting of 2024, held on September 19, 2024.

The Ministry has also linked the application process to compliance with the provisions of Ministerial Decision No. 342 of 2026, issued on September 16 of the current month, regarding additional conditions for filling supervisory positions within the Ministry.
