Pakistani Defense Minister: Time to Activate 'Mecca Agreement' After Escalation of Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia
Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif affirmed that the time has come to activate the “Mecca Agreement,” amid the recent escalation in Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia.
In statements to local channel Geo TV, Asif emphasized that Islamabad’s commitment to protecting Saudi Arabia and the holy sites remains steadfast and ongoing, clarifying that this protection constitutes a moral and doctrinal obligation undertaken by Pakistan even in the absence of any formal agreement, and is not contingent upon the existence or non-existence of the “Mecca Agreement.”
