Gold dips slightly as investors await US interest rate decision
Gold prices fell slightly on Wednesday as investors awaited the Federal Reserve’s (the U.S. central bank) decision on monetary policy, which is widely expected to include a rate cut.
Spot gold declined 0.1% to $4,288.48 per ounce, after hitting its lowest level in over a month on Monday.
U.S. gold futures for December delivery also dropped 0.1% to $4,328.10.
Among other precious metals, spot silver held steady at $63.67 per ounce, while platinum fell 0.3% to $1,770.47. Palladium rose 1% to $1,301.61.
