Iran Confronts America with Fire Over Neighbors
History reveals much of what the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have suffered from from a neighbor with greedy ambitions, based on the illusion of expansion. This has not only been the case since 1979, but long before that. As we have previously stated, the Persian character is built on deception and political dissimulation (taqiyya). Therefore, when we hear today’s Iranian rulers calling for dialogue with the Arab Gulf states, while observing their actions, we are left bewildered. How can there be dialogue amidst fire, terrorism, expansion, and the "export of sectarian revolution"?
Neighborly relations are based on principles that Iran has never respected; rather, it has always said the opposite of what it did. Thus, the call for dialogue is nothing more than throwing dust in the eyes, especially since, for 47 years, the GCC countries have consistently tried to declare their intentions regarding good neighborliness with their neighbor on the other side of the Gulf. However, they have always been met with Iranian lies and sweet talk, and when it comes to implementation, they encounter evasion.

In recent days, there were calls for a meeting between Gulf and Iranian officials. However, before the scheduled date, Tehran moved its proxies in Yemen to attack Saudi Arabia and open a front in an attempt to blackmail countries in the region. In this way, the Iranian regime thwarted an attempt to open a crack in the wall of the crisis, which will result in significant losses for it in the future.
There is an old saying: "The tooth smiles at the tooth, but the heart holds deceit." Slips of the tongue reveal what the chest conceals. Therefore, when we see the news and analyses published in Iranian media or those circulating in their orbit, as well as what is published on social media, we are convinced that the dialogue spoken of by Iranians is nothing more than test balloons that do not reflect sincere intentions. This composite character cannot settle on a unified stance.
Opening fronts in Iraq and Yemen simultaneously, at the explicit and clear request of Iran—as expressed in the recent statement by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) through its conditions for opening the Strait of Hormuz—indicates that Iran is not interested in stabilizing matters. Instead, it is constantly seeking to destabilize the security of the region, hoping that this will improve its position in negotiations with the United States.
The intentions were exposed in the memorandum of understanding with the United States. The regime continued to bomb Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the rest of the Gulf states, directly or indirectly, to improve its terms. Publicly, it attempts to evade the agreement because it limits the implementation of its plan, which is to weaken the Gulf states in pursuit of hegemony. This is a foolish dream, like a summer night’s fantasy.
In this regard, we have a folk saying: "Hearing about the Mu'aidi is better than seeing him." This applies to the current regime, which beats the drums of war against the United States and Israel but lacks the strength to strike them. Instead, it directs its fire at its neighbors, who, from the first spark of the current war, declared neutrality and refused to allow US forces to use their territories. However, instead of confronting its true enemy (as it claims), it has chosen the path of aggression against its neighbors. Thus, it is the "Mu'aidi" who is impotent, whose reputation exceeds his reality.
It is high time for the Iranian people to escape this vortex. They are great in potential and energy, but they have been under the pressure of continuous repression since 1979. They hold the key to salvation, and indeed, to liberating the region from a regime that still lives in the caves of the Middle Ages.
