The spokesperson clarified that both sides emphasized that relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia can only be exemplary within the Arab framework, and that the security of the Kingdom and Gulf states is part of Egypt’s national security. Egypt reaffirmed its rejection and full condemnation of any aggression or threats targeting Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, stability, or territorial integrity, or freedom of navigation in international sea lanes.
Both sides also stressed that current circumstances require greater solidarity and coordination between the two countries, noting that their interests and objectives are aligned, with absolute mutual understanding. The Crown Prince’s visit underscores the complete solidarity and brotherhood between Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf states.
Al-Sisi and Prince Mohammed bin Salman agreed to intensify efforts to formulate and implement practical measures to develop bilateral cooperation and remove any obstacles hindering the growth of trade and investment volumes, thereby elevating relations to a level commensurate with the historical ties and strategic proximity between the two countries.
The talks addressed regional developments and current challenges. Al-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s firm stance in supporting Saudi Arabia and all Arab states in the face of current regional circumstances, emphasizing the necessity of intensifying coordination and communication between Cairo and Riyadh.
The Saudi Crown Prince affirmed his appreciation for Egypt’s positions supporting regional stability and peace efforts, commending its solidarity and support for the Kingdom in confronting recent geopolitical challenges.
Both sides also stressed Egypt and Saudi Arabia’s commitment to ensuring freedom and security of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, Bab al-Mandab, and the Red Sea. Al-Sisi emphasized his country’s support for measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its security and stability, and to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
The meeting saw reaffirmation of the alignment between Egyptian and Saudi positions on the Palestinian issue, and the necessity of reaching a just and comprehensive settlement based on the two-state solution and resolutions of international legitimacy, alongside emphasis on implementing the obligations of the second phase of the US President’s peace plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803, delivering sufficient quantities of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and halting Israeli violations in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.
The two sides also reaffirmed Egypt and Saudi Arabia’s continued support for the security and stability of Sudan, and the necessity of preserving the exclusive role of Sudan’s national institutions, rejecting any equivalence between the Sudanese Armed Forces and any militias or parallel illegal entities. They stressed that any threat to the unity and territorial integrity of Sudan constitutes a risk to the collective security of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and regional countries.
The Egyptian presidential spokesperson concluded by noting that the meeting reaffirmed the shared positions of the two countries in support of the sovereignty and stability of all Arab states, with President Sisi and the Saudi Crown Prince agreeing to continue direct consultations and coordination in the coming period on various bilateral issues and regional developments.
