'Ministry of Commerce' to 'Cooperatives': Purchase from Approved Suppliers

The Ministry of Social Affairs issued a circular to the Cooperative Societies Union, directing it to distribute the circular to the boards of directors of the cooperative societies. The circular mandates strict compliance in dealing with and procuring from companies and suppliers that hold valid and approved circulars issued by the Union, or from companies that possess approved commercial agencies for the products and goods being supplied to the cooperative societies.

It emphasized the need to refrain from dealing with or procuring from any company or supplier not listed in the Union’s issued circulars and lacking an approved commercial agency for the relevant supplied products, in order to regulate procurement processes and ensure dealings with authorized entities.

The circular further stressed that the board of directors of each cooperative society bears full responsibility for any violation or non-compliance with the provisions of the Union’s circulars on this matter. It also directed the boards of directors of the cooperative societies to verify and confirm the authorization status of companies and suppliers before conducting any procurement or purchasing operations, and to adhere exclusively to the lists and circulars approved and issued by the Union.
