UK and US collaborate to accelerate commercialization of AI-driven nuclear fusion energy

Britain and the United States signed agreements today, Monday, aimed at accelerating the commercial deployment of nuclear fusion energy by leveraging artificial intelligence, computing, and other technologies.

The British government announced in a statement that one of the agreements signed on the sidelines of the Global Nuclear Fusion Summit in London will bring together the UK Atomic Energy Authority and the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, with the goal of uniting world-leading expertise in artificial intelligence, computing, and nuclear fusion, and accelerating the development of commercial nuclear fusion.

It added that the agreement would contribute to creating jobs in the nuclear fusion sector in both countries, noting that Britain expects to provide around 10,000 jobs in this sector by 2030.

Nuclear fusion is a process of combining hydrogen atoms to release vast amounts of energy, simulating the process that generates energy in the sun.
