Deputy Minister of Higher Education: Committed to supporting joint Gulf efforts to develop educational and research systems

Kuwait’s Undersecretary of State for Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Badr Al-Basiri, affirmed on Sunday that Kuwait is committed to continuing its support for joint Gulf cooperation in the fields of higher education and scientific research, in a manner that contributes to the development of educational and research systems and enhances their outcomes.

This statement came during Al-Basiri’s participation via video conference in the preparatory meeting of the undersecretaries of the ministries of higher education and scientific research of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, ahead of the 26th meeting of the GCC Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research, scheduled to be held in the Bahraini capital, Manama, next Wednesday.

Al-Basiri emphasized that strengthening the exchange of expertise and experiences among GCC member states constitutes a fundamental pillar for developing the higher education and scientific research sectors and supporting the trajectory of joint Gulf development.

The meeting discussed several agenda items and ways to enhance cooperation and coordination among GCC member states in the fields of higher education and scientific research, as well as follow-up on initiatives and topics of shared Gulf interest.
