BRICS Summit Reaffirms Commitment to Diplomacy in Resolving Crises and Warns of Nuclear Escalation Risks

The BRICS countries reaffirmed today, Saturday, their firm commitment to resolving international disputes through peaceful means, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, consultation, and diplomatic efforts as the optimal approach to addressing crises and enhancing global stability.

In a statement issued at the conclusion of its annual summit, the group stressed the need to intensify conflict prevention efforts, including addressing the root causes of conflicts, and called for adopting a multilateral approach that takes into account diverse perspectives and positions on major global issues.

BRICS also underscored the importance of joint action to maintain the smooth flow of global trade, ensure the stability of supply chains and energy flows, amid growing challenges and disruptions in the global economy.

The group expressed concern over the rising risks of nuclear threats and escalating conflicts in various parts of the world, calling for enhanced international efforts to reduce tensions and preserve international peace and security.

This came in a statement from the annual BRICS summit, which began its proceedings today, Saturday, in the Indian capital, New Delhi, and will last for two days, with participation from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, alongside Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates.
