Between one statement and another, Iranian officials are overturning their positions toward Gulf states. While they claim that Gulf security is a shared responsibility among the countries bordering the Gulf, they threaten and attack oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz, and even those close to and anchored in ports belonging to the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates!
Of course, Tehran contradicts all its positions toward regional states, as well as all bilateral and international agreements with them. Certainly, Tehran’s missile attacks and the statements of Iranian officials constitute direct and indirect aggression against the Arab Gulf states collectively.
Certainly, Iran is an adversarial state in its actions against vital and civilian infrastructure, which have claimed the lives of many innocents in Gulf states and Jordan.

And the contradictory statements of its officials, oscillating between threat and de-escalation at times, are evidence of the painful political vacuum that Tehran suffers from. Therefore, we ask: What does Iran seek to achieve through its hostility toward Gulf states and Jordan?
Tehran has thwarted all previous and current Gulf efforts through this contradictory policy, causing all Gulf states, including the mediators Oman and Qatar, to withdraw.
Iran’s sheltering behind the arms of its falling proxies in Beirut, Sana’a, Baghdad, and elsewhere will ultimately lead to its collapse. And who are the ones betting on supporting this declared and hidden political contradiction?
The days will reveal everything when the cover supporting this recklessness and political contradiction in positions is lifted, in Tehran, Beirut, Sana’a, Baghdad, and other capitals alike. We are awaiting the outcomes and end of all direct, expected, pending, and non-promoting issues for the success of Iran’s exposed deception game.
