Al-Yousef meets Infantino: $8 million from FIFA to build new headquarters and pitches for the Blue Academy

Agreement reached for Arsene Wenger’s visit to Kuwait to inaugurate the academy next November

The president of the board of directors of the Kuwait Football Association, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, announced on Thursday that the association has begun the necessary procedures to obtain the required licenses from the relevant authorities to build a new headquarters and training grounds for the Blue Academy, with financial support worth eight million US dollars from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) under the “FIFA Forward” program.

This statement came following a meeting between Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef and FIFA President Gianni Infantino to discuss the latest sports developments, held at FIFA’s headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.

Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef stated that he discussed with Infantino general developments in football and specific matters concerning the Kuwait Football Association, including an agreement for FIFA’s Head of Football Development, French coach Arsene Wenger, to visit Kuwait to inaugurate the Blue Academy next November.

He further noted that during the meeting, he highlighted that the association has initiated the process of securing the necessary licenses from the General Authority for Youth and Sports and the Kuwait Municipality to construct a new headquarters for the Kuwait Football Association and facilities for the Blue Academy.
