CENTCOM: We redirected 96 commercial ships as part of the US blockade on Iran
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Thursday that U.S. forces had redirected 96 commercial vessels as of September 10, as part of the U.S. embargo on Iran and to ensure full compliance.
CENTCOM added in a statement posted on its X (formerly Twitter) account that more than 50 vessels carrying humanitarian aid were permitted to pass through.
It clarified that an MH-60R Seahawk helicopter belonging to the U.S. Navy took off from the USS Rafael Peralta destroyer while it was participating in operations enforcing the U.S. embargo on Iran.
