Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef chaired a meeting today, Thursday, at Bayan Palace with delegations from the sister Republic of Iraq and the friendly United States of America, attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jaraah Al-Jaber, Deputy Minister of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wahayb, representatives of the Ministry of Defense, and several diplomatic, security, and military leaders.

In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef emphasized the importance of continuing consultation and coordination with the Iraqi and American sides, and enhancing security and defense cooperation to address common challenges in light of regional developments, in a manner that serves shared interests and contributes to preserving the security and stability of the region.

The statement noted that the meeting reviewed aspects of joint cooperation and ways to strengthen them, and discussed several topics of mutual interest, alongside exchanging views on regional situations and current developments.

It clarified that the meeting also addressed a number of security and defense files of mutual interest and the existing coordination among participating parties, thereby enhancing integration and the exchange of expertise, and supporting efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability in the region.

The Iraqi delegation was led by Lieutenant General Abdul-Amir Al-Shamari, Director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and included a number of officials and specialized leaders. The American delegation was led by Admiral Liam Hoolihan, Commander of the Joint Task Force for Operation "Solid Resolve," and included a number of officials and specialized leaders.
