Director of the Atomic Energy Authority: Indications of activities at Iran's 'Fars' site

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), stated that there are indications of activity at Iran’s “Mount Falak” site, as the agency remains unable to verify the nature of operations taking place there.

According to Bloomberg, this comes amid continued restrictions on IAEA inspectors’ access to several Iranian sites, hindering on-the-ground verification of ongoing activities.

The “Mount Falak” site is located near the Natanz uranium enrichment facility and comprises deep underground tunnel complexes. Iran had previously informed the IAEA that the site is designated for the assembly of centrifuges.

The indicators mentioned by Grossi do not confirm the presence of nuclear activity at the site, as the agency has not been able to gain access to verify the nature of the activities underway.

US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the United States had detected activity at “Mount Falak,” warning Iran against continuing such activities and threatening the possibility of striking the site.
