Salwa Customs Inspectors Foil Attempt to Smuggle Alcoholic Beverages Inside a Truck
Inspectors from the General Administration of Customs, under the supervision of the vegetable market inspection unit affiliated with the Salwa Customs Administration, foiled an attempt to smuggle alcoholic beverages inside one of the trucks, after an inspection operation led to the seizure of 11 bottles of alcoholic liquor and one bottle of beer.
The Administration confirmed that the discovery of the seized items was due to the customs officers’ professional intuition, vigilance, and diligence during routine inspection procedures. It added that coordination was established with the Customs Investigation and Inquiry Administration and with the General Administration for Combating Narcotics at the Ministry of Interior to take the necessary legal actions regarding the incident and the seized items.
