Pakistan: No military movement currently as part of the 'Mecca Alliance' following Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia

The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that there are currently no discussions regarding a military move or response under the “Mecca Pact,” following Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia.

The spokesperson for the Pakistani Foreign Ministry clarified during a press conference on Thursday that the agreement is “defensive in nature” and focuses on achieving security through deterrence, adding that Pakistan would act in accordance with the provisions of the pact “when the time comes.”

His remarks came in response to a question about how Islamabad would fulfill its obligations under the agreement following the Houthi attack on Saudi Arabia.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry had strongly condemned the Houthi attacks on four regions in Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the need to respect the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
