US President Donald Trump rallied Republican supporters ahead of the midterm elections scheduled for November, urging them to maintain Republican control of the House of Representatives and the Senate to complete his administration’s agenda during the remaining two years of his term.

In his speech at the Republican National Convention, Trump said the United States is “winning” its war against Iran, asserting that Washington controls the Strait of Hormuz, and renewing his suggestion to rename it the “Trump Strait.”

He added that Iran is no longer the power it once was in the Middle East, emphasizing that his administration would not allow Tehran to acquire a nuclear weapon, and defending the war as necessary to prevent it from reaching that capability.

Trump renewed his threat to strike the “Mount Fars” site in Iran, stating that the United States has monitored activity there and knows what is happening at the location, warning Tehran against proceeding with any nuclear activities there.

On domestic issues, Trump stressed the necessity of Republican victories in the midterm elections to preserve what he described as his administration’s achievements, arguing that a loss would result in the undoing of progress made over the past two years.

He also addressed immigration and energy, stating that his administration had halted what he called an “immigration disaster” along the southern border, and that the United States is moving to strengthen its independence and dominance in the energy sector.

Trump announced that he would give every adult American citizen $5,000 if Republicans retain control of both the House and the Senate, without providing further details on how the proposal would be implemented or funded.

Trump urged voters to vote for Republicans, asserting that a Republican victory would allow the United States, in his words, to “surpass the entire world for generations to come.”
