'Ministry of Public Works': Project to build a pedestrian bridge on Fahad Al-Salem Street

- The Ministry prepares to tender the contract at the beginning of next year

The Ministry of Public Works intends to tender a project for the design, completion, and maintenance of roads and services for four intersections on King Fahd Road (Road 40) and a pedestrian bridge on Fahd Al-Salem Street, with an implementation period of 36 months. The Ministry has included the project contract in its annual contracts plan for the current fiscal year, with an expected tender date at the beginning of next year (2027).

The project includes the study, design, and supervision of intersections at various locations and the improvement of Road 40 along King Fahd Expressway. Four sites have been selected for development. Through this project, the Ministry aims to address the problem of frequent pedestrian crossings during peak hours that disrupt the main street on Fahd Al-Salem Street near the Jahra Roundabout in Kuwait City.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Works announced the opening of a road in the Al-Sabahia area (Street 8) between plots 2 and 5, in the direction from the First Roundabout toward southern Al-Sabahia to the Assembly Roundabout, which is part of the Al-Ghawse Street project. The road was opened early Thursday morning in cooperation with the General Directorate of Traffic.

In parallel, the Central Tenders Board decided to postpone the deadline for submitting bids for the tender for the construction, completion, and maintenance of roads, bridges, stormwater drainage, sewage systems, and other services for a section of Al-Sulaybiyah Kabd Road (604), as well as a section of the Al-Sulaybiyah Industrial Kabd connector road along the Circular Road 6.5.

The Ministry aims, through the implementation of the project, to develop and modernize the road network, ensure safety and security standards, and protect the lives and property of road users in all areas adjacent to the project.
