Trump: We will launch additional attacks against Iran
We are not seeking an agreement with Tehran now... and the war could end immediately after the midterm elections
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States would launch additional attacks against Iran, while simultaneously affirming that his country is not currently seeking to reach an agreement with Tehran, though leaving the door open for potential negotiations at a later stage.
Trump stated that he believes the war with Iran would end immediately after the midterm elections, adding that he is pursuing something “greater than the nuclear deal” with Tehran.
He clarified that the United States had destroyed nine Iranian oil tankers, describing the results of the blockade imposed on Iran as “good,” and affirmed that his country controls the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump pointed out that inflation in Iran stands at 300%, while also predicting that oil prices would drop sharply following the midterm elections.
He warned that the entire world would face a “major problem” if Iran were to acquire a nuclear weapon.
In another matter, Trump said he would speak with Israelis regarding sanctions related to the West Bank and settlements.
Regarding the war in Ukraine, Trump expressed the view that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, are weary of fighting, making a bilateral meeting between them likely.
He added that his call with Putin had been positive, noting that the Russian president wants to reach an agreement concerning Ukraine.
