'Interior': Four Asians arrested for converting a warehouse in 'Abdali' into a local liquor factory

- 236 bottles ready for sale, barrels, raw materials, and a sum of cash seized at the site

The Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations – Al Jahra Governorate Criminal Investigations Department, arrested four Indian nationals for using a desert shelter on the Abdali Road as a site for manufacturing, storing, and selling locally produced alcohol.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that investigative efforts led to identifying the shelter used by the suspects as a base for producing and storing local alcohol. Consequently, the site was raided, and three suspects were apprehended in the act of manufacturing the alcohol. The fourth suspect was arrested upon arriving at the shelter to purchase a quantity of local alcohol for resale.

The ministry added that a search of the site yielded 236 plastic bottles filled with local alcohol and ready for sale, a large number of barrels and raw materials used in the production process, along with a sum of cash.

It was clarified that, upon interrogation, the three suspects admitted to using the shelter as a site for manufacturing, storing, and selling local alcohol out of public view. The fourth suspect admitted to purchasing local alcohol for resale.

Furthermore, it emerged that three of the suspects are wanted under arrest warrants, including one related to fraud and deception.

The ministry confirmed that the necessary legal procedures have been initiated against the suspects, and coordination is underway with the Kuwait Municipality to dismantle the illegal site.
