US Central Command: We destroyed 10 Iranian oil tankers last week
“CENTCOM”: None of our warships were targeted by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Wednesday the destruction of 10 Iranian oil tankers during the past week.
CENTCOM stated on its X account that “the ten tankers we destroyed are part of a secret, multi-billion-dollar network funding the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.”
CENTCOM denied claims by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that it had targeted two U.S. destroyers, affirming that no U.S. warship had been targeted by the Guard Corps, and that all attempts by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to target the U.S. destroyers had failed.
U.S. Central Command stated: “Claim: The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it targeted two U.S. Navy destroyers in the Middle East. This claim is entirely false.”
It added: “Fact: No U.S. Navy warship was targeted; all attack attempts by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps failed.”
