Qatar condemns renewed Iranian attacks on Jordan: A dangerous escalation that undermines political and diplomatic efforts to achieve security and stability in the region
The State of Qatar strongly condemned the renewed attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, deeming them a blatant violation of Jordan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a flagrant breach of international law, the UN Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the continuation of these attacks constitutes a serious escalation that could complicate efforts to contain tensions and undermine political and diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving security and stability in the region. It held the Islamic Republic of Iran fully legally responsible for these attacks and their ensuing repercussions and consequences.
Qatar reaffirmed its full solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and its support for all legitimate measures taken by Jordan to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
The Ministry stressed the urgent need for an immediate and complete halt to all military actions and attacks that threaten the security and stability of the region, as well as refraining from any acts that could widen the scope of escalation. It called for a serious return to dialogue and negotiations, and for adherence to the understandings reached through diplomatic efforts.
