Trump: The sanctions on Iran are strong and effective, and we will not allow it to possess a nuclear weapon

U.S. President Donald Trump affirmed that Iran will not possess a nuclear weapon, noting that the sanctions imposed on the country are strong, effective, and yielding results.

Trump stated that the United States is currently engaged in conflict because Iran had sought to acquire a nuclear weapon and, in his assessment, was very close to obtaining it.

He added that Tehran no longer has a chance of acquiring a nuclear weapon, reiterating his assurance that Washington will not allow it to possess one.
