Kuwait strongly condemns Houthi militia attacks on Saudi Arabia: A dangerous escalation that could undermine regional security and stability

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the Houthi militia’s attacks that targeted civilian and economic assets in several cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, resulting in the injury of dozens of civilians, including women and children. These attacks constitute a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, a direct threat to the security and safety of its citizens and residents, a breach of international law and international humanitarian law, and a serious and unjustified escalation that undermines regional security and stability.

In a statement issued today, the Ministry also condemned the Houthi militia’s continued targeting of commercial ships in the Red Sea, which poses a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation, global energy supplies, and international trade.

The Ministry affirmed Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its steadfast support, and its backing of all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, preserve its security and stability, protect its interests, and ensure the safety of its people and residents. It emphasized that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of Kuwait’s security and that of the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
