'Ministry of Interior': Citizen arrested with drugs, psychotropic substances, and a firearm for trafficking purposes

Inside a rented stable and taking measures to revoke possession due to violation of its designated purpose

The Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Administration for Combating Narcotics (“Local Combating Administration”), succeeded in apprehending a citizen in possession of various quantities of narcotics and psychoactive substances, a firearm, and ammunition with intent to traffic.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that the arrest followed necessary investigations confirming that the suspect possessed the seized substances for trafficking purposes. He was apprehended inside a stable rented to him in the Camel Stables area. The search operations also extended to another location in the Abdullah Al-Mubarak area.

The Ministry added that the search operations resulted in the seizure of approximately 300 grams of cocaine, 250 grams of hashish, around 3,500 capsules of the psychoactive drug Lyrica, approximately 1,000 sheets soaked with the synthetic cannabinoid “Chemical,” and about 50 grams of methamphetamine (“Shabu”), along with a pistol-type firearm, a quantity of ammunition, and four sensitive scales.

It noted that the suspect and the seized items have been referred to the competent authorities to take legal action against him.

The Ministry mentioned that the stable rented to the suspect was found to be in violation of its designated purpose. It clarified that the owner of the possession is being summoned and the competent authority is being contacted to take measures to revoke the stable’s lease. Furthermore, any possession proven to be exploited for purposes other than its designated use will be revoked, with appropriate legal measures taken against violators.
