Bahrain Centre for Dispute Resolution Organizes Workshop in Singapore on the Future of Global Commercial Dispute Resolution
The Bahrain Center for International Dispute Resolution recently organized a specialized workshop in Singapore on the future of international commercial dispute resolution, bringing together a select group of legal professionals, specialists, and stakeholders interested in cross-border commercial dispute resolution. The working sessions focused on the theme of “Guaranteed Neutrality in Cross-Border Commercial Dispute Resolution,” regarded as a fundamental element in enhancing the confidence of investors and commercial parties in international justice systems, and ensuring that disputing parties receive fair and impartial procedures, free from any considerations related to their nationalities or places of business.
The discussions highlighted the importance of leveraging Bahrain’s longstanding legal expertise and Singapore’s globally leading experience in commercial dispute resolution, thereby strengthening opportunities for legal and judicial cooperation and contributing to bolstering Bahrain’s position as a regional hub for legal services and international dispute resolution.
Ahmed Hussein, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Center for Dispute Resolution (BCDR), stated: “This workshop represents a milestone in consolidating the presence of the newly established Bahrain International Commercial Court (BICC), alongside other specialized dispute resolution institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and elevating them within the global commercial justice system. It also provides a unique platform for exchanging insights and experiences with the pioneering Singaporean model, which has firmly established itself as an international reference in commercial dispute resolution.”
The participation of lawyer Abdulrahman Al-Houti, Founder and Managing Partner of Dar Al-Mohamaya Law Office, in this workshop reflects his commitment to tracking legal and judicial developments on the international stage and exchanging expertise with institutions and specialists in commercial justice. This engagement aims to enhance the Kuwaiti and Gulf presence in international legal forums and support the development of professional practices in law and dispute resolution.
