'Ministry of Interior': Four suspects arrested in cases of importing and trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances

The Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Administration for Combating Narcotics, in coordination with the General Administration of Customs, arrested three suspects in a case involving the smuggling of narcotics and psychoactive substances from abroad through a land border crossing with the intent to traffic.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that intelligence reports indicated that two of the suspects were bringing narcotics from abroad. They were apprehended immediately upon entry. Upon confrontation with the seized items, they confessed to bringing the substances to hand over to a third suspect, who was also arrested.

The ministry added that investigations revealed the suspects were in contact with an individual residing abroad to arrange the receipt and transportation of the drugs. Coordination was established with relevant security authorities abroad to continue investigations into the other parties involved in the case.

Among the items seized from the suspects in the first case were 300 tablets of Captagon, 150 grams of cocaine, 150 sheets of the “A4” drug, 10 grams of hashish, and a sensitive scale.

In a separate case, the International Combating Department of the General Administration for Combating Narcotics arrested a suspect in possession of a quantity of narcotics and psychoactive substances with the intent to traffic and consume.

Seized from him were 90 sheets of the “A4” drug, 10 chemical ampoules, 30 grams of methamphetamine (shabu), and a sensitive scale.

Appropriate legal measures were taken against the suspects, and they, along with the seized items, were referred to the competent authorities.
